Broadcast
Advantages
- Fast & simple operation. Can apply both seed & fertiliser. Relatively low-cost equipment
Disadvantages
- Difficult to calibrate accurately. Overlap possible. Seed requires incorporation to correct depth.
Drill
Advantages
- Seed incorporation not required. Precise sowing depth. Uniform application.
Disadvantages
- Does not usually apply fertiliser. Equipment can be costly. Requires superior seedbed preparation
